Where’s it at? Monterey, CA near the airport

I was surprisingly pleased on my first visit to Ryan Ranch Disc Golf Course in Monterey, CA. 29 holes, who can complain? It is a course with a lot of hiking involved. There are elevation changes, wide open holes, holes with trees and shrubs, and a lot of wide open grassland shots.

Being close to the coast, this course may stay green all year, but I visited in March and it was gorgeous. There are a lot of wildflowers and green grass awaiting. I loved their tee markers here, many of them being little rocks with hand-painted “next tee” signage. The tees are concrete tee pads.

Monterey seems to have an unfair share of disc golf courses, though this is the only one I’ve visited so far. Check online for the others and if you have the energy, you can probably play 2 or 3 of them in a single trip down. And why not visit the Aquarium while you’re down here?
